Here we have a wonderfully crafted bar brooch taken from the Late Victorian period. The bar has been crafted from a rich 18ct yellow gold and plays host to an intricate insect design. A duo of deep red cabochon rubies take on the form of the wings which adds definition and colour whilst the body has been embellished with rose cut diamonds. A duo of additional tiny cabochon rubies can be found at the eyes before the piece is made complete by a single rounded natural pearl at one end. The combination of rubies, diamonds, and pearl against the gold creates a striking visual appearance with a close attention to detail on show here.
